Port Talbot welcome Ladies team for new Women’s Welsh Premier League

In another exciting development this summer, we are delighted to be able to welcome Port Talbot Town Ladies to our club.
The Ladies will compete in the inaugural Women’s Welsh Premier League next season and will play their home matches at the GenQuip stadium.
The side, who have previously competed as Trefelin Ladies, will play contest alongside the likes of Swansea City, Cardiff City and Wrexham over 22-games in the newly reformed Women’s Welsh Premier League, which has become a joint league for the first time having previously been split into Northern and Southern conferences.
“They current squad has been together for around four years and myself and all the players are absolutely delighted to be joining a club as established as Port Talbot,” said coach Chris Rees.
The squad boast a number of players who have achieved international recognition, with Courtney Thomas, Rachel Ball, Bethan Ellis having all trained with the national team, whilst Jessica Wadey is an Under-19 international.
Port Talbot Town Ladies kick-off the season against Cardiff City on 19th September.
